An exact overview of essential, analytics and marketing technologies used on the website.
1. Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small text file stored by the browser for a website. The website also uses localStorage, which keeps settings in the browser without sending them with every request. In this policy, “cookies” includes both technologies where they serve a similar purpose.
Essential technologies operate without marketing tracking and are needed for security or a setting you explicitly request. Analytics and marketing technologies remain blocked until you accept them.
2. Essential session
The “hfn_session” cookie maintains a secure PHP session, supports CSRF form protection, displays the result of a submitted message and signs in authorised administrators. It uses HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax and, over HTTPS, Secure. It normally expires when the browser closes or the session is ended.
This cookie is essential and cannot be disabled in the panel. It is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
3. Local preferences
“hfn-a11y” stores your selected accessibility options, such as larger text, high contrast, underlined links and reduced motion. “hfn-cookie-consent” stores the policy version and your analytics and marketing choices.
These records remain in localStorage until you reset them, delete site data or a policy-version change requires a new choice. They are not sent to other websites.
4. First-party analytics and Google Analytics
When you enable the “Analytics” category, Hate Fighters Network first-party analytics starts. It records the viewed path, page title, traffic source, UTM campaign, language, broad device type, browser and link opens. It does not store the raw IP address; random visitor and session identifiers are kept in localStorage and sessionStorage, while only one-way hashes are recorded in the database. Analytics events are retained for up to 24 months.
If configured, Google Analytics also loads only with the same consent. Depending on the Google configuration, cookies such as “_ga” and “_ga_<ID>” may be set. Their duration and exact purpose are determined by the active Google configuration. Analytics is not required for core website use.
5. Meta Pixel
Meta Pixel loads only if you enable the “Marketing” category. It may measure campaign performance and website events and associate a visit with Meta services under Meta’s rules.
Meta may use cookies or identifiers such as “_fbp” and, when you arrive through an advertisement, “_fbc”. Refusing marketing does not restrict access to website content, forms or applications.
6. External video, map and links
Locally hosted video does not require third-party cookies. Embedded YouTube video uses youtube-nocookie.com mode where available, but YouTube or Vimeo may process technical data and use their own technologies when you play the content.
Google Maps loads with the contact page. The browser then connects to Google, which may receive the IP address and device information and use its own technologies under its policies. The text address and a direct map link are available alongside the embedded map.
7. How to choose and change consent
On your first visit, you can accept all, choose categories or continue with essential functions only. Analytics and marketing options are not pre-selected. You can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it.
Reopen the panel through “Cookie settings” in the footer or the button below. A new choice applies to future loading. If a third party has already set a cookie, remove it through your browser settings.
8. Browser settings and effects of refusal
Most browsers let you inspect, block and delete cookies and site data. If you block the essential session, the contact form, administrator sign-in and other protected functions may not work. Deleting localStorage resets accessibility and consent choices.
Refusing analytics and marketing does not affect core website content. It only reduces the information available to us for statistics and campaign measurement.
9. Policy changes and contact
We update the technology list when website functions or service providers change. If a change is material, we will increase the consent version and the panel will request your choice again.
